The Huskies coaching staff's decision to offer scholarships early appears to be paying dividends. 2011 LB/S commit Matthew Lyons accepted the Huskies offer before he had even received any other offer, though, no doubt other schools will try to make a push to get him right before signing day.
As a junior he racked up 135 tackles, six fumble recoveries, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a touchdown. That's an impressive stat line. More recently, while competing in the prestigious 2010 Badger Sport Elite 7-on-7 Passing Tournament for team B2G, he was singled out as a defensive star for the team that won the tournament.
