Connor Cree called the coaches at UW and BSU today, to give the good news to the Huskies and the bad news to the Broncos. UW is still working to address their lack of depth on the defensive line, and the addition of Connor Cree should help with that.
Cree is still developing, and while right now he stands 6'5" tall and weighs 225 lbs, it is in no way unreasonable to fathom that he could grow another inch or two, while adding 20-30 lbs before next year when he enrolls at UW. We may have Ed "Too Tall" Jones reincarnate with this one.
Cree has demonstrated a great amount of athletic ability while playing for the Skyline Spartans, playing both as a DE and a TE for the reigning 3x state champs.
He definitely has a lot of work to do on his technique, while he does well chasing down the ball carrier and tackling in the open field, he'll need to develop a much better repertoire of pass rush moves, as well as do a better job of using his long arms to keep separation from oncoming blockers and bat down passes. The great news is, these are all easy things to fix, and like they say, you can't teach 6'5". Great get Sark!
